The Monterey area, including Monterey Bay, Carmel Bay,
Warm-water diving has it's allure, with it's relaxing temperature and easy conditions, brightly colored creatures, etc., yet the colder water of the temperate ocean is home to a fantastic variety of life with which even the most prolific coral reefs can't compete.
and the area in between, is one of the most popular dive destinations in the world, and for good reason. While there seems to be mostly 2 kinds of divers, those who prefer warm-water diving and those who prefer cold-water diving, I happen to believe you can't really compare the two. They are completely different experiences.
